The festival of farmers was held on the territory of the cultural and sports complex Ilyinka. On the maidan, the thematic platform was developed by the oil refining company TAIF-NK, which every year takes part in the organization of Sabantuy. Here all guests were met by girls in folk costumes. This year, the company decided to associate the design of the festive site with the upcoming world championship in professional skills according to WorldSkills standards, which will be held in Kazan in August, so there were “living figures” symbolizing the specialists of working professions on the site. Both children and adults took photos with them.

“TAIF-NK has always paid special attention to the social sphere, thanks to the management of the company for this. TAIF-NK’s platform is one of the best. We are proud that we have such production in Nizhnekamsk,” honorary citizen of Nizhnekamsk Grigory Kitanov shared.

The guests were also delighted by a three-metre tall polar bear puppet in a folk costume — every visitor took a photo with them.

All day the guests were in a festive mood created by popular Tatar artists and a youth cover band.

“TAIF-NK site never ceases to amaze us every year. It is always very fun and atmospheric there. We already got used that on the platform we will be surely pleased with the invited actors, we always attend it and with interest wait to learn who will surprise us this time,” inhabitant of Nizhnekamsk Maria Nesterova told.

The company's site was visited by First Deputy Chief of Presidential Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Muratov, Consul General of Turkey in Kazan Ahmet Sadık Doğan, Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin and many others. They were met by Director General of TAIF-NK PSC Rushan Shamgunov. The delegation went to the masters of folk crafts, who held a master class on leather embossing and the production of original keychains. Marat Muratov decided to participate in it, and he made himself a leather keychain with the logo of TAIF-NK.

“Sabantuy has been for us one of the most joyful and long-awaited events”

After viewing the exhibitions, on the main stage of the maidan, there began a theatrical prologue. Then First Deputy Chief of Presidential Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Muratov came on the stage, who read the congratulation from President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

“Dear Tatarstan citizens! I cordially congratulate you on the Tatar national holiday — Sabantuy! For many centuries, Sabantuy has been for us one of the most joyful and long-awaited events. Wherever the Tatars live, the wide maidan of Sabantuy gives us a great opportunity to feel our involvement in our native culture, enjoy the melodic sound of the Tatar language, and show our best qualities,” President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said in his congratulation.

By tradition, the event honoured the village workers and citizens. They were awarded medals of the Republic of Tatarstan “For Valorous Work” and “Ana Dana — Maternal Glory”. Also, residents of the district received the title “Honoured Worker of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan”, Letters of Acknowledgement from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The festival of farmers in Nizhnekamsk this year has brought together more than 37,000 people. One of the most visited places on the maidan was the site of TAIF-NK. Thanks to a varied entertainment programme, all the guests had a great mood. In memory of the summer holiday, they took with them not only bright photos but also souvenirs that they made with their own hands.
