Fuel gas of HRDCC will be used in the Nizhnekamsk CHP Plant 1
It is planned to launch the project together with the kick-off of the Heavy Residues Deep Conversion Complex in TAIF-NK
A branch of TGC-16 PJSC in Nizhnekamsk CHP Plant 1 traditionally demonstrated a growth of its indicators last year: electricity generation increased by 0,6% and made up 4,6bn kWh, sales of heat energy were 16,2m Gcal, which is 3,5% more than in 2014. High indicators require a continuous technical and technological update. What did they do for that? At what stage is the project on the construction of Gas Control Point and reception of fuel gas from HRDCC? Will there be constructed a new energy block based on gas-turbine unit in CHP Plant 1? A correspondent of Realnoe Vremya explained the details of the work of the station and its future plans.
Production grows
CHP Plant 1 in Nizhnekamsk, which has been working for almost 50 years (the station will celebrate its 50 th anniversary in 2017), is the most powerful station of combined production cycle in the republic. The station's estimated electric capacity is 880 MWt and heat capacity is 3,746 Gcal/h. Both citizens and industrial enterprises like Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, TAIF-NK PJSC are the consumers of the station. People of Nizhnekamsk get about 65-70% of heat energy together with hot water from TGC-16.
The station annually improves its indicators. According to its annual report, in 2015, CHP Plant 1 increased its electricity generation by 0,6%, it made up 4,6bn kWh. 4,1bn kWh of this volume were sold, and 498 kWh was spent on the station's own needs. The sale of heat energy was 16,2m Gcal. It is 553,000 Gcal or 3,5% more than in 2014.
Modernisation in tandem with consumer
Good results require a 100% capacity load, and it is the maximum. This is why CHP Plant 1 pays great attention to technical and technological update. Last year, about 700m rubles were expended on repair works and a major construction of the station.
A huge job is done in the technical update of energy facilities, modernisation and reconstruction of the equipment and implementation of new equipment.
A new modernised 110 kW unit transformer with a new monitor system and temperature regulator, updated boiler, filter-press that is to reduce the volume of slime water in sludge reservoir of the station and so on are among the latest novelties.
But the accent in the modernisation is on deep integration with industrial consumers in the energy-saving schemes of the enterprises that lead to an increase of both energetic safety of consumers and efficiency of energy saving of the enterprises while maintaining stable and reasonable tariffs.
Works on the reception of a condensate from the second industrial zone of NKNKH, which ended in autumn, is among these recently fulfilled projects. It allowed to increase the actual reception of the condensate to 400 t/h that is used by the petrochemical enterprise for technological needs after an additional clean. 'Every drop of this water has not only saved money, but also it is a huge benefit for the ecology of Nizhnekamsk District,' director general of TGC-16 Ramil Khusainov notes.
Future prospects: reception of fuel gas from HRDCC and GTU
In November 2015, the construction of the Gas Control Point-3 and reception of fuel gas from HRDCC of TAIF-NK began. According to the director general, this project is designed to implement the use of residues produced by HRDCC. It will enable not to flare but use it in the technological cycle of heat supply of CHP Plant 1 after a corresponding clean. The energy enterprise plans to put it into operation after the launch of the units in HRDCC by December 2016.

Equipment is equipment. Human being manages all this power. 'All our achievements is each worker's merit,' Ramil Khusainov tells. These are not just words. Expressing their social responsibility, the company has been taking part in the regional programme of social mortgage (Social Mortgage in Tatarstan, Development of Industrial Complexes in Tatarstan, Sale of Apartments according to agreements on Dwelling Purchase) since 2010. 481,8m rubles were sent to the Tatarstan Presidential State Housing Fund during the fulfilment of the programme. 403 apartments were distributed in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk.
Care of their workers is expressed in improved leisure areas on the territory of the station. A small park, mosque and Orthodox chapel open the territory of the Nizhnekamsk CHP Plant 1. Great attention is paid to sport and healthy lifestyle: they have their own big gym with training equipment, swimming pool and sauna. The workers not only do sport in the gym but also participate and win in the municipal and regional competitions.
Now the Nizhnekamsk CHP Plant 1 is getting ready to its anniversary. Energy workers will celebrate the 50 th anniversary since the launch of the first block in February 2017. There is a programme of preparation for the event. It includes an overhaul of production sectors, renewal of the exhibits of the museum, publication of a jubilee book and the very ceremony with the participation of veterans, the collective of the station and guests. However, many events in 2016 will be dedicated to the jubilee.
