TAIF-NK presents its achievements at Oil, Gas. Petrochemistry Exhibition

Oil, Gas. Petrochemistry Exhibition has started at Kazan Fair. The event is being held within the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum. About 180 companies from Russia and the countries of the near and far abroad are taking part in the exhibition. Among the regular participants, there is TAIF-NK oil refining company, whose stand was visited by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. Read more in the report of Realnoe Vremya.

“The enterprises of the petrochemical complex are interested in cooperation”

This year, the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the mining and industrial supervision of Russia.

“For more than a quarter of a century, on the days of the celebration of Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers, Kazan has become the host city for one of the main industry events in the life of the Russian oil and gas industry. This year, we are dedicating our forum to the significant date — the 300th anniversary of Russian mining and industrial supervision. The history of the service is inextricably linked with the history of the development of our country's industry, strengthening its raw materials and energy potential,” President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov greeted the guests of the forum.

The president arrived at the event accompanied by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision Alexander Trembitsky, foreign high-ranking officials and local elite.

After welcoming speeches, the head of the republic, accompanied by honoured guests, went to look at the achievements of the petrochemical industry.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, “today the enterprises of the petrochemical complex of Tatarstan are interested in the development of constructive cooperation”. Therefore, the organizers of the forum have prepared a rich business programme.

The topics such as digitalization of the industry, innovations in oil and gas production and oilfield services, rational nature management were reflected in the exhibition expositions and business programme of the forum.

“These topics will determine the dynamics of the oil and gas industry of our country,” concluded the head of Tatarstan.

TAIF-NK processed 8,3 million tonnes of raw materials in 2018

One hundred and eighty participants from Russia and 13 states from the near and far abroad took part in the 26th Oil, Gas. Petrochemicals Exhibition. All of them disposed themselves in three pavilions, but the main one was pavilion No. 3, where the stands of the largest enterprises were opened. It was from here the government delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov began its tour around the exhibition.

Near the main entrance, there was the large stand of TAIF Group, where the key enterprises of the holding, including the oil refining company TAIF-NK, were disposed. The guests of honour were met here by Ilshat Fattakhov, the deputy director general — director of commerce, who made the presentation of the company.

“TAIF-NK is one of the largest and steadily developing enterprises of the oil refining industry of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation. In 2018, the company processed more than 8,3 million tonnes of raw materials, including 7,3 million tonnes of oil and 1 million tonnes of gas condensate,” Ilshat Fattakhov began his presentation.

Throughout its activity in the market, TAIF-NK invests in modernization and develops production. The company produces more than 25 types of oil products.

The unique installation

In November 2012, the foundation stone of the future Heavy residue Conversion Complex, the strategically important unit not only for TAIF-NK, Tatarstan industry but also for the world oil refining industry, was laid in the industrial zone. The complex is based on VCC (Veba Combi Cracking) technology, which allows to process heavy oil residues — tar and vacuum gas oil, transforming them with the help of unique technology into light and high-quality oil products. This plant is considered to be the only one in the world in terms of performance and technological design.

The processing capacity of raw materials at the new complex is to be 3,7 million tonnes per year. The oil conversion depth at TAIF-NK after the project implementation is to increase to 98,6%.

Ilshat Fattakhov noted that mainly sulphur is concentrated in heavy oil residues. But in the process of hydroconversion of residues at the VCC plant, there will be formed a significant amount of hydrogen sulphide. To extract the products flows of the formed hydrogen sulphide for further processing, the combined sulphur recovery unit, designed for 130,000 tonnes a year, has been built at the HRCC.

To ensure the efficiency of the VCC technology, which is based on hydrogenation processes, requires a significant amount of hydrogen. Therefore, TAIF-NK provided for the construction of its own hydrogen production plant with a capacity of 160,000 tonnes a year. The distinctive feature of the mechanism is high energy efficiency.

New treatment units have reduced the burden on the environment

Another successful project of the company is the workshop for local treatment of industrial wastewater. Its essence is to close the water cycle. The degree of purification is to be 99,99%. This will allow the reuse of water in technological processes. All units of the new treatment facilities have already been put into operation. The shop works steadily with a capacity of about 360 cubic metres per hour, processing all incoming effluents. A significant result for the republic is that discharges into surface water bodies after the reconstruction of treatment facilities have been stopped, which significantly has reduced the burden on the environment of the region.
