TAIF-NK employees participate in Chemist’s Day celebration

The republican Chemist’s Day was celebrated in Nizhnekamsk on 25 May. Honourable guests gathered at Neftekhim Arena sports palace where an exhibition of the leading petrochemical enterprises of the republic took place and state awards were given. More is in the report.

Petrochemistry is flagship of Tatarstan’s economy

Nizhnekamsk is rightly considered the chemical capital of Tatarstan — the biggest industrial enterprises, which are the flagship of the regional economy — are concentrated here. For this reason, the republican Chemist’s Day was celebrated in the city on the Kama River for the seventh time. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Director General of TAIF JSC Albert Shigabutdinov as well as representatives of all biggest chemical enterprises of the republic were present in the celebration.

The official part began with the exhibition where the Tatarstan president acquainted with the performance of leading petrochemical enterprises of the region. Rustam Minnikhanov visited the stand of TAIF-NK JSC where samples of key products — benzene, diesel fuel, kerosene, jet fuel and bitumen — were exhibited. The company produces over 28 names of oil products in total and is a leader in Russian oil refining.

Chemistry and petrochemistry are growth points of the republic, this is why Tatarstan plans to implement ambitious projects in this sector further.

“Dear workers of the chemical, petrochemical industry, let me congratulate you on your professional holiday, thank you for what you make for our republic, for our country and, of course, I wish the chemical and petrochemical sector would develop further,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

“Large-scale innovative development of the Russian economy is impossible without the steady operation of our sector”

This year Dmitry Mendeleyev’s periodic table celebrates 150 years. This date is marked around the world: the United National General Assembly proclaimed 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements. For this reason, the republican Chemist’s Day was also dedicated to Mendeleyev’s table discovery.

“I am congratulating you on your professional holiday, the day of chemist and petrochemist! Chemistry and petrochemistry are the foundation of the industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Large-scale innovative development of the Russian economy is impossible without the steady operation of our sector. Our joint efforts will save positive tendencies and create necessary opportunities for further effective development of the sector and economy of the country in general. I am expressing gratitude to all TAIF-NK JSC employees for keeping the bar of top professionals who are loyal to their business, responsible for results of their labour and do their best for our enterprise’s successful development despite uneasy conditions of the economic development of the country. I wish all workers of the petrochemical industry successful endeavours, new horizons and implementation of the most challenging projects. Happiness, health and well-being to you and your families,” TAIF-NK JSC Director General Rushan Shamgunov congratulated on the holiday.

Success of the petrochemical sector depends on people, this is why it became a good tradition to award valuable workers on the republican Chemist’s Day. Veterans and the best workers of the petrochemical sector, Tatarstan scientists and innovators as well as students and schoolchildren who won all-Russian and republican school Olympiads were awarded on 25 May. Process pump operator from TAIF-NK JSC oil refinery Sergey Komarov and operator of processing units from the benzene plant of TAIF-NK JSC Rishat Gaifullin were among the awardees. The specialists were titled Honoured Chemist of the Republic of Tatarstan for their long-term fruitful labour in the petrochemical and oil refining industry. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov awarded the badge and the certificate to the representatives of TAIF-NK.

Operator of processing units of TAIF-NK JSC oil refinery Valery Spiridonov was also paid attention. The representative of the company became a laureate in the nomination Veteran of Chemical Industry and was given a diplomate, certificate and statuette.

After the award ceremony, the republican Chemist’s Day went on with a concert. Singer Aleksandr Marshal concluded the celebration programme.
