Kazanorgsintez sets new 'green record'

Workers of the enterprise have planted over 4,600 trees in five years

Kazanorgsintez has been participating in a tree planting campaign for the sixth year in a row. Workers of the enterprise have planted over 4,600 trees in five years. This year they've continued the tradition and planted 150 firs. It's not the first large-scale project of the enterprise to beautify Kazan: KOS renewed Pine Grove park, helped to reconstruct the Swan Lakes. Kazanorgsintez annually takes part in tens of other social projects. Realnoe Vremya tells the details.

Green record of Kazanorgsintez

Green Record project kicked off in Kazan in 2012. One year later, Kazanorgsintez PJSC became an active participant of the campaign having planted 2013 trees – like the number of the year – in parks, public squares and precincts. There were planted rowans, lime trees and Lombardy poplars.

After that, the enterprise began to annually participate in the autumn tree planting in some part of the city. From 2013 to 2017, there have been planted over 4,600 trees in general: poplars, rowans, maples, oaks. Lilac, snowball, rose, juniper and other bushes put down roots in Kazan too. Kazan especially preferred conifers. It's known that pine forests emit a huge amount of oxygen into the atmosphere and absorb carbon dioxide, which is very beneficial to the urban environment. A hectare of the pine forest is supposed to emit over 5 tonnes of oxygen a year that diminishes fatigue, gives a person an emotional lift.

Contribution to conservation of historical and natural heritage of Tatarstan

Green Record isn't the only campaign aimed to beautify the city KOS participated in. In 2014-2015, the enterprise held a large-scale reconstruction of Pine Grove park near Chemists' Culture Centre. This piece of nature in Kazan's Moscow District is famous for its century-old pines. 38 three-metre pines were planted there in 2014, which put down roots quickly. Bushes were planted there, the grass was renewed, a new illumination system, benches and tracks were assembled, a unique ''chemical'' playground for kids, a site to learn traffic code, a sports area were created.

Kazanorgsintez brought another gift to citizens of Kazan having reconstructed the system of the Swan Lakes. The water area of the favourite leisure place of the citizens increased almost 9 times – from 4,2 to 36 hectares. To get almost dry water bodies back to life, the lakes became 4 metres deeper, a unique drainage system was used. Citizens of Kazan already managed to evaluate the result of the works: urban Sabantuy was held on the Swan Lake's bank after the break.

Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin evaluated the contribution of the industrial enterprise to Kazan's life this year. On the eve of the 60 th anniversary of the foundation of Kazanorgsintez PJSC, the enterprise was inscribed in the Kazan Honour Book as recognition of the achievements not only in the industrial and economic sector but also the active participation in numerous socially important projects. Kazanorgsintez PJSC Director General Farid Minigulov received the award on behalf of the staff.

This year, State Adviser of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev thanked all benefactors at the award ceremony of the eighth volume of the Book of Benefactors and letters of gratitude of The Historical and Cultural Monuments Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Taking part in the beautification of the urban environment and reconstruction of historical monuments, Kazanorgsintez PJSC doesn't stand on the sidelines in annual charity and social campaigns. Kazanorgsintez traditionally helps educational establishments located in Kirov and Moscow Districts of Kazan. In 2018, the enterprise has taken part again in Help to Go to School campaign. A festive concert was prepared for Great Patriotic War veterans and home front workers by Victory Day. The enterprise annually participated in events dedicated to the disabled and Day of Older Persons. Unemployed disabled people who are enlisted by the primary trade union receive a financial help. The Council of Veterans has 3,422 people. Six of them are Great Patriotic War participants, 78 – are home front workers, 700 – are disabled. Kazanorgsintez workers support all urban celebrations: they set up a platform at Sabantuy, take part in Maslennitsa. The factory workers traditionally adorn Pine Grove park before New Year. A New Year tree is installed in the square, it's decorated with streamers, the stage is adorned, the ice rink is laid. The illumination of the park takes children and adults to a fairy tale. About 40,000 people visit the New Year site during the winter holiday and celebrations, Kazanorgsintez workers with their families are among them.
