37 rubles per litre: Tatarstan filling stations have raised the prices for gasoline
The fuel price growth rate in Tatarstan has surpassed a record high among the Volga regions
Tatarstan filling stations, while the residents of the Republic were celebrating Day of Russia, raised the fuel prices. The growth has turned out to be more than dramatic: from 40 kopeks to 1 ruble for different types of gasoline. As the analytical service of Realnoe Vremya found out, the rise in prices is also observed in other regions of the Volga region, but this time Tatarstan has surpassed a record high by its pace.
From 40 kopeks to 1 ruble
In Tatarstan, the price for gasoline has been sharply raised. And this has been done almost everywhere at all filing stations of all networks. The increase occurred on the eve of the public holidays.
In Kazan, the price for AI-92 gasoline at almost all filling stations has been increased by 40 kopeks — from 33 rubles 80 kopeks per litre to 34 rubles 20 kopeks. AI-95 gasoline has been risen in price by 50 kopeks – from 36.5 to 37 rubles. But the sharpest jump of prices was for diesel fuel: by 1 ruble – from 32.5 to 33.5 rubles per litre. Before that, only Tatneft kept the price of diesel fuel at this level. Now in Kazan this price has been established at almost all networks.
A similar increase took place in other major cities with minor exemptions. In Almetyevsk, the prices since the end of last week was set at the Kazan level (except for the cost of diesel fuel, which previously was more expensive than in the capital of Tatarstan). In Nizhnekamsk, the price increase occurred simultaneously with Kazan and on the same magnitude, with the exception of filling stations of Tatneft, where the gasoline has become 10 kopeks cheaper: AI-92 – 34 rubles 10 kopeks, AI-95 – 36 rubles and 90 kopeks. The same situation is observed in Naberezhnye Chelny, and only at the filing stations of TAIF NK, where the prices were lower, the increase has reached the former Kazan indices.
The sharpest rise in prices among the regions of the Volga region is in Tatarstan
In fact, in Tatarstan there has been settled ones of the highest prices in the Volga region. AI-92 gasoline brand more than in the Republic of Tatarstan costs only in the Chuvash Republic and not by much – at average 34.29 rubles per liter. AI-95 is significantly more expensive only in Bashkiria (37.6 rubles) and in the Chuvash Republic (37.31 rubles). Diesel fuel also has ceased to be very cheap. The price remains at the minimum value, but now in Kazan it is equal to the price of diesel fuel in Samara and Ulyanovsk.
It should be noted that the rise in prices of gasoline also occurred in the Mari El Republic. So, in Yoshkar-Ola, the price of gasoline AI-92 has been risen by at average of 11 kopeks – from 33.69 to 33.8 rubles, and for diesel fuel — by 47 kopeks (up to 34.03 rubles).
Last week, gasoline became more expensive in Samara: AI-92 – by 18 kopeks (up to 33.26 rubles), AI-95 – by 20 kopeks (up to 36.83 rubles), diesel fuel – by 8 kopeks (up to 33.5 rubles). Two weeks ago, the price of fuel AI-92 rose in Ufa by 25 kopeks (up to 34 rubles). And AI-95 have risen in price for 2 weeks in total amount by 37 kopeks (up to 37.6 rubles).
Thus, despite the fact that the rise in gasoline prices in the Volga region – it is almost a general trend, in Tatarstan the last price increase is the most dramatic.
Excise taxes continue to hit the pockets of drivers
The rise in gasoline prices took place after the decision to increase the excise tax on fuel. The law on increase since 1 April of the excise duties rates on gasoline and diesel fuel was signed by President Vladimir Putin in February of 2016. It has become the second increase in excise duties on fuel for a year. From 1 January, the rate of gasoline Euro-5 has been increased by 36.1%, diesel – by 20.3%, up to 4.15 rubles per liter. From 1 April of 2016, the increase in excise duties was by 25-35%. Last time a similar situation was in 2013, when the excise tax was increased first in January and then in July.
Before that increase, the networks of filling stations sharply raised fuel prices in late March, on the eve of the introduction of new excise taxes. On average since the beginning of the year in Tatarstan AI-92 has been risen in price by 1 ruble 80 kopeks, AI-95 – by 1 ruble 55 kopeks. Only diesel fuel in March temporarily fell in price, however, the last increase has regained almost half of the previous decrease.
