Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s employee is on the long list of team Russia for WorldSkills

WorldSkills championship kicked off in Kazan on 22 August. Participants from 63 countries and regions will compete in 56 skills. Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s employee Shamil Khakimov is on the long list of team Russia. He is in reserve and can compete in Plastic Die Engineering if needed. More is in Realnoe Vremya’s report.

“To make such a phone case, one has to, first of all, make its 3D model”

63 people from Tatarstan, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow Oblast and Chelyabinsk will be representing our country at WorldSkills. It is the first team, but there is also a long list of the team consisting of participants in reserve. 21-year-old Shamil Khakimov who competes in Plastic Die Engineering is among them.

After the ninth grade, the young man entered the Polytechnic College in Naberezhnye Chelny where he joined the WorldSkills movement. His competence Plastic Die Engineering is a relatively new discipline. For the first time it was presented four years ago in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The competence is peculiar because one person does the job for several specialists: he has to create a 3D model of the future good, write a programme for the machine tool and mould it.

“This competence is in very high demand in life. For instance, phone cases are made of plastic. To make such a phone case, one has to, first of all, make its 3D model, write a programme for the machine tool, polish the mould and mould the case,” Shamil Khakimov explained.

Over 26 million rubles to create a training site

The Competence Centre at the N. Lemayev Petrochemistry and Oil Refining College became a training site for Shamil. On Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov’s instruction, Nizhnekamskneftekhim was responsible for Plastic Die Engineering, this is why the company allocated over 26 million rubles to create a training site and purchase the consumables. The creation of full-cycle modules of the competence allowed Shamil to thoroughly prepare for tests and, as a result, get to the long list of the squad.

Nizhnekamskneftekhim specialists will participate in a petrochemical championship in Sochi.

As Nizhnekamskneftekhim actively participates in WorldSkills in Plastic Die Engineering, this helped Shamil to find a job in the enterprise. Now the young man works as an operator in NKNK’s divinyl and crude hydrocarbons plant. Besides Shamil, other Nizhnekamskneftekhim employees also take part in several competencies the enterprise is specialised in. So three employees of the enterprise will participate in a petrochemical championship in Sochi in autumn.

Maintenance technician Radik Aglyamov who will compete in Repair of Technological Equipment is one of them. The young man studied in Kazan and then moved to Nizhnekamsk where he found a job in the core enterprise of the city. Now he is combining the work and preparation for the championship. Not only experts but a psychologist who helps to cope with stress and develop communication skills are preparing him for the competition.

“We have a schedule: we dismantle pumps first in the morning, then we study drawings, go to the training centre. At the moment we manage to do everything, we try. The most difficult thing is probably a certificate and documentation. As we face technical work daily, masters deal with documentation more. This is we prepare drawings more,” Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s maintenance technician Radik Aglyamov shared.

Besides, the Nizhnekamskneftekhim employees will compete in Sochi in two competences. Leysan Mullakayeva — chemistry lab technician in the R&D Centre — will be representing in Laboratory Chemical Analysis and Andrey Kukarin, operator of the shop No. 6711 in the oligomer and glycol plant, will in Operator of Chemical Technologies. He will represent this discipline for the first time.
