Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra gave a New Year concert
On 28 December, Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra under Aleksandr Sladkovsky gave a concert with participation of soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre. Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Verdi, Rossini, Lehár – this music set the audience to the Christmas mood, and a huge, shimmering with lights Christmas tree in the lobby of Saidashev State Great Concert Hall added festive emotions.
Once in Seville
Before the concert in the cafeteria there was excitement: the audience was in a hurry to drink a glass of champagne. Gowns, tuxedos, glitter of decorations – our Symphony over the past six years have accustomed the public to the fact that New Year concert is one of the social events that is a must to visit. A New Year Tree was almost up to the ceiling in the foyer on the second floor gathered those wishing to take a selfie.
Aleksandr Sladkovsky took the stage at full parade, in gracefully sitting tailcoat, obviously, it was one that the Maestro was wearing on December 6 of this year when in Vienna ''Golden hall'', Musikverein, Tatarstan Symphony gave a triumphant concert. The final of this difficult year has been significant for the Kazan musicians.
The concert began with a light, dizzying melodies, the overture to The Barber of Seville by Rossini. The Maestro conducted easily, surrendering to the music of Rossini, enjoying the fine tunes. Then the theme in The Barber of Seville was continued: on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre there appeared Anna Aglatova, who in a casual and artistic way performed Rosina's cavatina.
Kazan listened for the first time Aglatova, meanwhile, this young singer, a graduate of the Gnessin Academy and a student of Ruzanna Lisitsian, already firmly established on the operatic firmament. As a student, she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre, and she perform there a large number of leading roles, participating in numerous theatre projects.
The graceful brunette with a mop of lush hair, the owner of a strong voice, discovered the temperament and extraordinary acting talent. Her contact with the orchestra and conductor (the accompaniment was conducted very delicately) was built very precisely.
''I wish you beautiful chords''
The second soloist, participating in the concert, was a colleague of Aglatova at the Bolshoi Theatre, tenor Oleg Dolgov. The Kazan audience loves this singer, who often participates in performances in the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M. Jalil.
This time, Dolgov was presented to Kazan in the most different images: romantic Aleko from the opera with the same name by Sergei Rachmaninoff, a sarcastic man in love Hermann from The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky, a suffering Prince Calaf from Turandot by Puccini, frivolous Duke from Rigoletto by Verdi. Each of the arias performed by Oleg Dolgov met the applause of the audience.
As for the orchestra, I was pleased by many performances, including the Marche by Tchaikovsky and the divertimento from Swan Lake, thus giving the New Year's concert the atmosphere of fairy tales, magic, miracle. The March, not bravura, and even a little wistful and a little sad, I related to the old Russia, where from now returning beautiful tradition of the secular New Year holidays.
Closer to the finale of the second part, the chief conductor and artistic director of the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra came to the microphone. ''I wish you white snow and beautiful New Year. I wish you beautiful chords and divine vibrations. Thank you that you have been with us the whole year!'' Alexander Sladkovsky congratulated the audience.
The finale of the concert, many guessed it – The drinking song from La Traviata by Verdi, when the voices of soprano and tenor, orchestra accompaniment blended together, making the audience burst with applause.
