Albert Shigabutdinov, Director General of TAIF PSC, has been awarded the high state award of the Russian Federation — the Order of Honour ''for the achieved labour successes, active public activity and long-term dedicated work''. The award was presented by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Kazan Kremlin. The ceremony of presenting the state award of the Russian Federation — the Order of Honour — was held in the White hall of the Governor's Palace in the Kazan Kremlin. There gathered Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Director General of TAIF PSC for industrial-commercial activity Rustem Sulteev and others to participate in the event in the bright sun-lit hall.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov presented the Order of Honour to Director General of TAIF PSC Albert Shigabutdinov ''for the achieved labour successes, active public activity and long-term dedicated work''. The president noted that the life and professional path of the head of TAIF is an example of hard work, dedication and integrity.
''You have a great leadership talent. Your team takes an active part in solving the most difficult issues in the field of petrochemical complex. TAIF Group is involved in many areas: telecommunications, construction, power engineering, banking, and investment. Under your leadership, the development programme of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, Kazanorgsintez PJSC and TAIF-NK PSC, which is strategically important for the economy of the Russian Federation, has been developed and successfully implemented. The work of your team is the example of dynamic development and high production efficiency,'' said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The president noted that more than 44,000 people work at the enterprises of TAIF Group. The share of TAIF accounts for about 12% of all investments in the economy of the republic, 13% of the revenues to the consolidated budget of the region on income tax. The social orientation of the company is also highly appreciated.
''Your activities are consistent with the slogan you chose: 'Force for good.' Sport, social mortgage, Revival project and many other charitable projects are a vivid example of social orientation of your company,'' Rustam Minnikhanov added.

In response, Albert Shigabutdinov thanked for the award.
''I am very proud that our president chose our team in my person and awarded this order. Indeed, behind this award — there is hard work of not only my colleagues — 45-thousand team of TAIF Group, but also the work of the whole republic. This is our close-knit work, the results of industrial and economic development of Tatarstan,'' said Albert Shigabutdinov.
He added that TAIF Group has even more complex and difficult tasks ahead.
''We must not forget that our team is approaching the period of alternation of generations. This is one of the difficult moments, after which we have to achieve even more significant results and solve the problem that Mr. Minnikhanov and Mr. Shaimiev have set for us — the standard of living of the residents should increase to the standard of living in the most advanced countries of the world,'' said the director general of TAIF PSC.
''The alternation of generations is important, but today statistics say that old age comes only after aged 75,'' Rustam Minnikhanov joked.
''You should always be with the team during working hours''
After the awarding ceremony, answering journalists' questions, Albert Shigabutdinov shared the secret of managing the 45-thousand team of TAIF Group.
''First, you should always be with the team during working hours, and second, in the evening, at night, on vacation or on Sundays study academic, scientific publications, new technologies, their application and implementation. It is the essence of the work of the leader, '' said the director general of TAIF PSC.
It should be noted that the ceremony of awarding the Order of Honour took place on the eve of the birthday of the director general of TAIF PSC. However, as it turned out, the pleasant date was not a reason for rest — Albert Shigabutdinov's birthday started with a working meeting at 8 a.m.
''The second meeting is scheduled at 12 a.m., then another meeting at 3 p.m. If there is an opportunity, at 7 p.m. we will gather with the closest colleagues, we will share impressions of the received award and we will outline plans for the future,'' Albert Shigabutdinov told.
Growth prospects
TAIF Group, consisting of 54 subsidiaries and affiliates, operates in various fields with the following main activities: oil and gas processing and petrochemicals, telecommunications, construction, banking, investments and services. Currently, TAIF Group is implementing a project to build the olefin complex with a capacity of 1,200 thousand tonnes of ethylene — the new production facility of EP-600 in Nizhnekamsk.
The main partner in the construction of the ethylene complex is the international chemical Corporation Linde Group. A memorandum on strategic cooperation between TAIF and Linde was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2017.
Another project of TAIF Group is implemented jointly with Siemens in the power engineering sector — the construction of a combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of 495 MW on a turnkey basis on the basis of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC. Siemens is also interested in participating in other large-scale investment projects of TAIF Group.
Siemens and TAIF signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of Russian Energy Week 2018. The new document is an addition and continuation of the implementation of the agreement on strategic cooperation between TAIF Group and Siemens, signed in 2014. The newly signed document will allow TAIF Group to expand the cooperation in terms of ensuring transparency of direct purchases of equipment, components, spare parts of Siemens' production.
The management of TAIF Group links the industry development with ''green chemistry'': TAIF PSC and Bio-on S.p.A signed an agreement on the joint implementation of the project for the production of bioplastics in October in Moscow in the framework of bilateral Russian-Italian meetings in the presence of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
It is planned that the Republic of Tatarstan will build the first plant for the production of bioplastics — polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), obtained on the basis of the by-product of sugar production from sugar beet. The initial production capacity of the plant is 10,000 tonnes a year, it is planned to expand the capacity to 20,000 tonnes. The cost of the project is estimated at about 90 million euros.
