To Sochi for investments: one more industrial cluster, one-industry towns and economic development

What the Tatarstan delegation is going to do at the Russian Investment Forum

The Tatarstan delegation once again went to Sochi to participate in the Russian Investment Forum, where in addition to presentation of the regional potential there will be concluded a number of contracts, and Rustam Minnikhanov will tell about the experience of economic development in the republic and separately – about the development of one-industry towns. What we can expect from the major event, which gathers businesses and the authorities together in one place – read in the material of Realnoe Vremya.

To Sochi for new industrial cluster

Sochi once again has turned into a business platform for three days in mid-February, which brought together Russian regional leaders, members of the federal government and business representatives. Tatarstan has taken part in the Russian Investment Forum for more than 10 years, and the republic has been represented by Rustam Minnikhanov as usual.

The Sochi forum, as a rule, becomes a place for signing new cooperation agreements. According to the information on the forum official website, yesterday the head of the republic together with Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of Moscow Oblast, and Valery Radaev, the governor of Saratov Oblast, signed an agreement on creation of interregional industrial clusters ''Composites without borders'' on the territory of the three subjects. It is thanks to UMATEX Group (Rosatom) and the Association of clusters and technoparks. It is assumed that the cluster will help to create the full production cycle of composite materials and the products made of them.

Tatarstan is presented on two stands at the exhibition. The Tatarstan Investment Development Agency will tell about the potential of the region, and the task to present the subjects of Russia has been undertaken by the Association of innovative regions of Russia (AIRR), which includes 14 most ''innovative'' territories. Along with Tatarstan, this list includes Bashkiria, Mordovia, Altai Krai, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Perm Krai, Irkutsk Oblast, Kaluga Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast, Samara Oblast, Tomsk Oblast, Tyumen Oblast and Ulyanovsk Oblast. The stand presents the innovative rating of the regions for the last year, in which Tatarstan takes the first place. Besides, there are presented the key projects of the AIRR, and more than 10 agreements are expected to be signed.

It is also expected that the Yugra Development Fund will sign a roadmap for the development of cooperation with the machine-building cluster of Tatarstan for 2018.

From economic development to one-industry towns

The forum agenda promises to be eventful. The first day, on February 14th, was dedicated to youth entrepreneurship, the next two days they discuss three main topics: ''Business in the regions. Giving a new impetus'', ''Improving the quality of life'' and ''New regional policy: improving the governance.'' Tatarstan President takes part in at least two panel discussions. Yesterday, he spoke about the experience of socio-economic development of the region. Then he participated in another discussion — under the inspiring title ''One-industry towns: designing the future.'' The heads of other Russian regions also spoke at both sessions. However, in the second case, the list was much longer — in addition to the heads of large regions, the heads of individual cities such as Yugra, Kotovsk and Novokuznetsk, also told about their experience.

Today, on February 16th, the forum holds a meeting of the regional leaders with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. It is also planned that Rustam Minnikhanov participates in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Gazprom PJSC.

Last year, Rustam Minnikhanov signed an agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, as well as an action plan for implementation of the agreement between the republic and Tambov Oblast until 2020, and established contacts with Irkutsk Oblast. For the future

As already mentioned, the delegation from Tatarstan is a permanent participant of the investment forum. Last year, the programme with the participation of the Tatarstan president was no less busy. He took part in the meeting of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev with the regional leaders on budget policy, signed an agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, as well as an action plan for implementation of the agreement between the republic and Tambov Oblast until 2020, and established contacts with Irkutsk Oblast.

At one time, the Russian Investment Forum was the platform for presentation of Innopolis, Electronic Tatarstan and the experience in improvement of public spaces. Last year, Rustam Minnikhanov announced at the forum the idea to create Alabuga-2. What news the delegation from Tatarstan will bring from Sochi this time — will be known in the near future.
