Tatar Mony-2016: China and Belgium already sing in Tatar
Today is the 3th tour of the international contest of young performers Tatar Mony on the air of TNV channel. It has been held in the capital of Tatarstan for the 8th time.
Our budget is less than the budget of the Constellation festival
The budget of the Tatar Mony this year is only 5 million rubles, 1 million of this sum will be spent for prizes for the laureates. 'You better ask what was our budget when we started 8 years ago, and it was only 600 thousand rubles. And the budget of the Constellations festival this year is 68 million rubles,' emotionally responded to the question of Realnoe Vremya the chairperson of the jury, people's artist of Tatarstan and Professor Salavat Fatkhutdinov.
What is the current budget of the Constellations television youth festival of variety art — Fakhritdinov doesn't know. Indeed, if to compare these figures, many questions arises. And the first is for the Ministry of Culture of RT, which is listed among the organizers of the contest. Isn't it possible to increase funding or at least to seek sponsors?
Is it reasonable to treat the contest rough, aimed, as stated in the press release, 'at propaganda of Tatar folk songs and works by Tatar composers, introducing youth to national cultural values, identifying and support of young performers'? Or, as it often happens in this ministry, everyone and no one in particular is responsible for the contest?
Singers from Belgium and China
The concept of the contest this year is formulated vaguely: 'National melodies and songs in a contemporary sound.' Obviously, the Ministry of Culture of RT has not found specialists-musicologists able to make the concept of the contest of musicians was perceived as a logical and harmonious construction.
The contest is held in four nominations: 'solo vocal', 'instrumental performance', 'vocal and instrumental ensembles' and 'academic vocal'. This year it was submitted nearly 800 applications, 70 performers went to the second tour on the results of the qualifying tours.
We can say that Tatar Mony is a year-round contest because when the concert of the winners is only finishing, they are already looking for new young artists who could participate in the next contest.
For example, this year there have been 10 qualifying rounds: in Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Tashkent, Ufa, Kirov and Orenburg Oblasts. Two qualifying tours were held in Kazan — in the Conservatory and at the University of Culture and Arts. Among the contestants this year — the representatives of China and Belgium.
On these days that the contestants are spending in Kazan, in addition to rehearsals and work with stylists, they can visit master classes of leading Tatarstan performers, the president of the jury and a singer Salavat Fatkhutdinov will give a master class.
In the second tour, as it has been already mentioned, there are 70 performers. In the third tour there will be 30 musicians, and they all will the laureates of the contest, their performances can be seen today on channel TNV live.
On 6 December, you will have an opportunity to see the laureates and winners first-hand — in the great hall of the Galiaskar Kamal Tatar Academic Theatre there will be the gala-concert of the annual competition Tatar Mony.
Interestingly, the winners of the Tatar Mona, in addition to awards at the competition, have privileges for entrance to the Kazan higher educational institutions — the Conservatory and the University of Culture. Well, TNV in its turn tries to promote the participants of this contest. And, perhaps, in this context, the contribution of the channel is significant and really help young performers.
