Day of Fatherland Heroes: Saint George the Victorious successors commemorated in Park Pobedy

Today, the Russian presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov have attended the meeting devoted to Fatherland Heroes Day and put flowers to Eternal flame in Park Pobedy in Kazan.

A Prime Minister deputy of RT Vasil Shaikhraziev, a Tatarstan statesman Ilsur Metshin, representatives of state and municipal authorities, social organisations, veterans, Kazan youth, Cadet Corps pupils and militaries took part in the ceremony.

Mikhail Babich was shown the military equipment displayed in Park Pobedy, and the historical-memorial complex Kniga Pamyati (The Book of Memory).

Day of Fatherland Heroes or Day of George cavalier – is a memorable date that is celebrated in Russia annually on 9 December since 2007 and coincided with the Order of Saint George establishment in 1769.
