About pirates and beautiful slave women: Le Corsaire ballet premiere at Nuriyev Festival

The 32nd Rudolf Nuriyev International Classical Ballet Festival opened in Kazan in the M. Jalil Tatarstan Academy State Opera and Ballet Theatre on 13 May. Le Corsaire became a premiere - it's a story about pirates, slave women and dervishes, an adventure written by English romantic Byron adapted by Marius Petipa together with the music of French classical music composer Adolphe Adam.
