The all-Russian Immortal Regiment campaign took place in Kazan again on 9 May. People marched in the centre of Kazan carrying photos of their relatives who were at the Great Patriotic War. A column with the Victory Banner ahead began moving from the Musa Jalil Opera and Ballet Theatre. Then the Immortal Regiment covered its traditional route - Svobody Square, Karl Marx Street, Lobachevsky Street, Kremlyovskaya Street, 1 May Square, Millenium Square. According to preliminary information, this year 170,000 citizens of Kazan and guests of the capital joined the Immortal Regiment campaign.
