The exhibition The Golden Horde and the Black Sea Littoral Zone. Lessons of Chingissid Empire opened for visitors on 3 April that acquaints visitors with the culture of the Mongol Empire and mainly with the culture of Ulus of Jochi (the Golden Horde), the biggest state of nomads in Western Eurasia. The exhibition includes items of equitation and urban culture of Mongolian nomads, festive drinking vessels, jewellery, costumes. An important place is given to details of architectural decoration and samples of Buddhist painting of the Turkic and Mongolian East. The deliberately prepared project for Kazan consists of about 600 exhibits from a collection of the State Hermitage as well as museums from Astrakhan, Feodosia, Yalta, Bakhchisaray. Participants of an away meeting of the Council of Representatives of the Presidential Union of Museums of Russia, which is taking place these days in the Kazan Kremlin, visited the opening of the exhibition.
