The 36th Chaliapin International Opera Festival opened in Kazan on 1 February with the premiere of the opera Nabucco by Verdi . The production was performed by international team: conductor Stefano Romani (Italy), director Yefim Maizel (the USA), artist Viktor Gerasimenko (Russia, Moscow), choirmaster Lyubov Draznina (Russia, Kazan).
