Oil spill response drills take place at Kazanorgsintez PJSC

Special tactical training exercises in accordance with the current plan with representatives of full-time and part-time accident rescue teams of Kazanorgsintez, Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations, Tatarstan administration of Rospotrebnadzor, Volga administration of Rostechnadzor, Tatarstan administration of Russian FSB, KOS workers, Kennard private security company were held at Kazanorgsintez.

According to the scenario of the drills, an unidentified person entered the zone of Bisphenol A Plant. The supposed wrongdoer tried to depressurise a benzene cistern. The plant staff, accident rescue teams of the enterprise, security staff were in a state of high alert. The plotter was arrested. The accident rescue teams localised and liquidated an oil leak. The accident area was cordoned. The injured were given first aid on the spot.

Head engineer of the enterprise Rafael Safarov noted that Kazanorgsintez has a system that allows to prevent and liquidate any possible emergency situations. The trained personnel and the latest equipment enable to perform these tasks.

Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations representative Mikhail Kovrigin noted that Kazanorgsintez is ready to liquidate emergency situations by all indicators of the supervision bodies. The major goal of the exercises was achieved.
