Following Ibn Fadlan en Volga route: Mintimer Shaimiev and Mikhail Piotrovsky opened an exhibition in Hermitage-Kazan

An exhibition called Ibn Fadlan's trip: Volga journey from Baghdad to Bolgar openedOn 20 February. The State Councillor Mintimer Shaimiev, the director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky, the director of The Kazan Kremlin museum-reserve Zilya Valeyeva, the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Ayrat Sibagatullin, the chairman of the Russian council of Muftis and the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of Russia mufti Shiekh Ravil Gainutdin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq Ismail Shafik Mukhsin.

Mintimer Shaimiev met with Mikhail Piotrovsky before the opening of the exhibition and expressed his gratitude for his constant attention to Tatarstan and support of the project Cultural Heritage: Ancient City Bolgar and insular City of Sviyazhsk'.
