From Kazan to Canada in a 25-metre pool: Aquatic Palace hosts Russian Short Course Swimming Championships

The Russian Swimming Championships (25m) opened in Aquatic Palace on 5 November. President of the Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov, State Duma deputy Irek Zinnurov and Olga Pavlova, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the opening ceremony.

The tournament gathered 580 athletes from 62 regions of Russian. Tatarstan is represented by 37 swimmers. A participant of the 2016 Olympiad Aleksander Krasnykh was there together with Yelizaveta Bazarova, Irina Prokhodko, Ernest Maksumov and other Tatarstan pupils.

These competitions are the only qualifier for the FINA World Short Course (25m) Swimming Championships that takes place from 6 to 11 December in Windsor (Canada).
