The 23 rd International Specialised Exhibition called Oil. Gas. Petrochemistry took place in Kazan in September.

Over 210 gas and petrochemical enterprises from Tatarstan, Russia, Germany, Poland, Azerbaijan, China and other countries have shown their achievements, new products, equipment and technologies on the exhibition this year. As a tradition, one of the biggest petrochemical companies of the country – Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC – also became a participant of the event.

Opening the forum, the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that 'the Republic of Tatarstan is oil and petrochemical region. And the questions that will be discussed are very important to the republic and the country'.

The annual contest for the best exhibition, project or technical solution was held during the preparation for the forum. President of Tatarstan awarded the winners during the opening ceremony. Nizhnekamskneftekhim was among Grad-Prix winners – for the organisation of linear alfa-olefin production and products made of its basis. It should be reminded, the Alfa-Olefin Unit was put into operation at the beginning of August 2016.

During the visit to the exposition, which occupied four pavilions this year, the delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov had a look at the stand of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC. The director general of the joint-stock company Azat Bikmurzin reported on the results of the work of the company this year to the head of the republic. He also demonstrated a new type of product – functionalised and oil-filled divinyl-styrene rubber whose industrial production is expected to begin next year.

Azat Bikmurzin stressed that that type of product for tyre industry was 'quite unique. Many world companies are creating it. But NKNKH was the first company in Russia to success in this field. The first 400 tonnes have already been sent to potential consumers for industrial test. This rubber is aimed at production of high-speed tyres, for future generation cars.'

In addition, NKNKH participated in the 12 th Specialised Exhibition called 21st century Eco Technologies and Equipment, which also was held during the international forum. The company exhibited environmentally friendly technologies and the main points of the 4th ecological programme from 2015 to 2020. It also demonstrated one of its largest projects – a reconstruction of biological sewage treatment facilities. Nizhnekamskneftekhim is working on its first stage this year.
