It noted that the dismissal took effect immediately, and the reason for such verdict was the inability of Comey to lead the FBI effectively. Inefficient work

Recently it has become known that President of the United States Donald Trump dismissed FBI Director James Comey from office. According to the press service of the president of the United States, Trump has made such decision on the recommendation of Attorney General of the United States Jefferson Sessions and his deputy Rod J. Rosenstein. Sessions advised the president to appoint a more experienced and qualified specialist as the head of the Bureau. The failure of Comey to lead the FBI effectively was named as the official reason for his resignation.

James Comey, who is 56 years old, was appointed as FBI Director by Barack Obama in June 2013. Previously, he worked as Federal Prosecutor in New York and Deputy Prosecutor General. Before the FBI, Comey worked as Chief Advisor to Lockheed Martin Corporation, as well as in the investment company Bridgewater Associates. Also, Comey received Juris Doctor.

Unfavourable subordinate

In 2004, James Comey, as Deputy Attorney General of the United States, refused the White House to renew the program of surveillance of phones and emails of citizens without a court order. Robert Mueller, who headed FBI before Comey, was repeatedly accused by the press of illegal tapping of telephone conversations and monitoring credit reports and Internet traffic of the Americans. In the end, the FBI in 2007 acknowledged that the agency received unauthorized personal information about U.S. citizens.

Curiously, in 2004, Comey said ''no'' to his future colleagues.

Set-up for Hillary

In 2016, under Comey it was opened the case against Hillary Clinton. Then presidential candidate of the Democratic Party was accused of violating the rules of official correspondence. Clinton led her work e-mail correspondence through personal e-mail. Later, Clinton said that this investigation was the cause of her defeat in the election, accusing Comey.

At the same time, the case against Clinton was closed in July 2016 unilaterally. That is, Comey didn't pass it to his immediate supervisor — Attorney General. Comey himself said that no reasonably thinking attorney would take the case on the emails of Hillary Clinton, since it lacks an intent to commit a crime. In this case, why make a fuss?

But in less than two weeks before the election, Comey said that FBI would investigate the case.

If not the election, Comey would be left?

Trump himself was untouchable for Comey. In March 2017, the head of the FBI announced that his agency was investigating alleged ties of Trump with Russia and the possible Russian influence on the presidential election in the United States.

Trump accused Obama of that already ex-president of the United States ordered the FBI to bug his staff. In March of this year, Comey in the Congress of the USA denied this information, while speaking about possible influence of Russia on the presidential election in the United States.

We would like to note that Trump in the same note thanked Comey for that the head of the FBI several times notified the US President that he was not under investigation.

The New York Times connects the dismissal of Comey with his investigation of the correspondence of former State Secretary Hillary Clinton. Earlier in the press it was noted that Comey was accused of meddling in the political processes of the country. There are those who adheres to the version that Comey went too far in investigating the relationships of Trump with Russia.
